Managing Package Components

How to add individual components to a Package

  1. Log into Kaptio Travel and select Kaptio Travel Pricing from the drop down menu in the top right hand corner of your screen.
  2. Click Packages at the top of your screen and the Package management overview screen will appear:packages-o
  3. Select the relevant Package.
  4. On the Package specific overview screen click New Component in the top right hand corner of the screen and the following popup will appear:new-component
  5. Under Record Type select from the drop down menu which item record type* you wish to add, for example, accommodation or activity.
  6. Enter a component Name.
  7. Check the Hide Date/ Time box for any components which do not have specific timings allocated, for example, insurance. If you check the Hide Date/Time box, then you will not be asked to add a date and time when creating a Package itinerary.
  8. Under Selection Type select Required, if the component is compulsory, and select Optional, if the component is optional.
  9. Select the Component Behaviour for this component as follows:
    • Select Single if this component is only available once within the Package. Check the Available Anyday box if this component is available on any day of the Package. You will still be asked to enter a default day on which this item will be featured within the Package and you can then edit the day at Itinerary level.
    • Select Pass if this component is available multiple times within the Package. After selecting Pass, you will be asked to enter the Maximum Times the passenger is allowed to take part in this activity.
    • Also select Pass if the Package allows customers to choose between certain components. For example, the customer has the choice of one out of three activities within the Package. In this case all three activities are loaded into this component as Pass (with the Maximum Time set as “one”). The sales user will then only be able to select one of the three activities for this Package when creating the Package itinerary for a customer.
    • Select Unlimited if this component is available unlimited times within the Package.
    • Select Day Tickets if this component is available multiple times during a specific day within the Package. You will then be asked to choose on which day of the Package this item will be featured as well as the Maximum Times. Day Tickets can, for example, be a day entry pass to a National Park, or a day ticket for a hop on/ hop off city tour bus.
  10.  Select the Pricing Behaviour for this Package as follows. NOTE: The Pricing Behaviour drop down menu is only available when the Package net price setup is dynamic.
    • Select Standard if there is a net and sales rate allocated to the Package component.
    • Select Free Component if there will be no net and no sales rates allocated to the component.
    • Select No Net Rate if there is no net rate allocated to the component.
    • Select No Sales Rate if there is no sales rate allocated to the component.
  11.  When you select Accommodation as the Item Record Type, then you also need to enter the Check In day and Check Out day for the accommodation as follows:accommodation-check-in-check-out
  12. Once you have entered all details click Save and the following popup will appear:component-opt
  13. Select a Supplier and the Item you wish to add to this Package component.
  14. Depending on the Item record type you have selected, you will have the option to select one or all of the available price categories.
  15. For accommodation Items you can select one, all or none of the available board bases.
  16. Once you have entered all relevant details click Save to be redirected to the Package specific overview screen where you can now see all the included components. You can also edit the components or add further Items to a component by clicking New Option in the relevant component section.pack-compo
